100 Wines San Diego Wine List

The 100 Wines San Diego wine list was composed in a matter of days.  I had only a few days to shuffle through all my tasting notes and put together a list that had diversity and matched the theme of the restaurant.  The restaurant features small plates and it’s decor is that of a small restaurant in the South of France or in Sevilla.  The list reflects the food and atmosphere, rustic, eclectic and affordable.

  1. Do you really know what is a premier cru in Burgundy?
It was never presented wines from Chablis as “Chardonnay”. What is forbidden in France !

    • You know in my line of work I am always trying to turn people on to wines they normally don’t drink. Chablis is a hard sell in most markets in America. It is too often closely associated to the box wines found in our grocery stores. What a great marketing technique, to associate their wine with one of the greatest wines in the world. People in California drink Chardonnay, a lot of Chardonnay. That being said, they don’t drink Chablis. We can all agree that the great premier cru wines of Chablis are made with Chardonnay, correct? Listing it like this will hopefully turn more Chardonnay drinkers to the wines of Chablis. We are not in France, we’re in San Diego, California. We aren’t changing the labels, just clearing it up for those that do not know.
